What is Panchang or Panchangam ?

Panchang or panchangam is a Hindu calendar. Which is determined on astronomical events. Astronomical information is tabulated in the Panchang. Whose use becomes very important for doing astrology or Hindu religious legislation. Specific Nakshatras, Karanas or Yogas appear to play an important role when an event occurs. This information can be found by astrology. Horoscope is given by astrology calculations using Panchang.

The word Panchang is used from Sanskrit. Panchang means the five organs which represent the sources of energy. This source is included in both the visible and the invisible. Location or region, time, date, etc., the exact Panchang result is very important for any Muhurta. Tithi, Yoga, Vara, Nakshatra and Karan are the five characteristics of the Panchang. These five characteristics of Panchang, when the balance is maintained for a particular reason, it is called Muhurta. Shubh Muhurta becomes very important for performing religious rituals, legislation, for performing any work.
