    What is Panchang Tithi Calculation ?

    Panchang is made up of five parts. Tithi is an important part out of the five organs. Tithi is of one day according to the Moon. Date wise, it becomes easy to select one's birth anniversary or death anniversary. A Tithi is formed when the Moon is 12 degrees apart from the Sun. There are total 16 Tithis in the Moon. Which comes twice in the moons, but in this new moon and full moon comes only once in the moons. There are total 30 Tithis in one Moon. Out of which the first 15 Tithis are divided into Shukla Paksha, in which the remaining 15 Tithis are divided into Krishna Paksha. A Tithi is formed from the 12 Kala (Ansh or Degree) of the Moon. Five parts are considered in a Tithi. Which are called Nanda, Bhadra, Rikta, Jaya and Poorna.

    Panchang has special significance in Vedic astrology.

    Auspicious and inauspicious dates are used for doing latest work, and for determining Muhurtas. The names of the dates are as follows - Amavasya, Purnima, Pratham, Dwitiya, Tritiya, Chaturthi, Panchami, Shashthi, Saptami, Ashtami, Navami, Dashami, Ekadashi, Dwadashi, Trayodashi and Chaturdashi.

    To know the details of the dates, the dates have to be studied in two divisions, Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha, the first 15 Tithis fall in the Shukla Paksha in the Moon. And the remaining 15 dates are in Krishna Paksha.

    first / first

    Pratham / Pratipada date is considered very suitable for doing all kinds of auspicious work, religious work, home havan, worship rituals. The presiding deity of Pratham / Pratipada date is Agni.

    Second / Vidya

    Dwitiya / Vidya Tithi is considered good for building a new house, and for the auspicious time of new things like architecture. The lord of Dwitiya / Vidya Tithi is considered to be Brahmadev.

    Tritiya / Teej

    Tritiya / Teej Tithi is considered best for shaving, cutting nails, cutting hair. The presiding deity of Tritiya / Teej Tithi is Gauri.

    Chaturthi / Chauth

    To defeat the enemies, Chaturthi / Chauth Tithi is considered appropriate to start a war. The presiding deity of Chaturthi / Chauth Tithi is Yamdev and Lord Ganesha.

    Panchami

    Panchami Tithi is considered to be very good for performing surgery, for medical treatment. Nag Devta is the ruler of Panchami Tithi.

    Shashti

    It is considered good to use Shashti Tithi to make new friends, to organize travel or festival, to remove social distance. The presiding deity of Shashthi Tithi is Swami Kartikeya.

    Saptami

    To buy new things. Saptami Tithi is considered very best to start a new journey. On Saptami Tithi, Suryadev is ruling.

    Eighth

    It is considered good to get victory, and to worship Lord Rudra on the day of Ashtami. Ashtami is believed to be of Shiva. But it is forbidden to worship Lord Shiva in Shukla Paksha.

    Navami

    The day of Navami Tithi is devoted to destruction, violence. And starting a new war on Navami is beneficial. Traveling on this date is considered prohibited. Goddess Ambika is owned on Navami Tithi.

    tenth

    Dashami Tithi is considered extremely auspicious for religious, worship method, auspicious and holy works. Dharmaraja is the lord of Dashami Tithi.

    Ekadashi

    Ekadashi date is considered very auspicious according to Hindu beliefs. Lord Shiva's fast is also kept on this day. Fasting and worship are done on Ekadashi. Lord Shiva is owned on Ekadashi Tithi

    twelfth
